The Corner is an exciting new programme that will have as its
studio the streets and corners of our nation’s communities. By doing this, the Corner seeks to assess and
critique the news and newsmakers of the day from a grass roots perspective. A major component of the programme is the
inclusion of the ideas and views of persons on the ground in the discussions of
the issues that impact on their lives.
This serves to deepen the quality of democracy in Jamaica,
given that decision-makers will be inclined to use the proramme to take a pulse
of what people at the community level feel about the issues of the day. The Corner
will also seek to engage major stakeholders and partners in the communities in
strategies geared toward their own development.
