In the meantime, when our newsroom contacted Superintendent Radcliff Lewis, Head of the Clarendon Police, he said the police there have been carrying out increased patrols in the area.
He says however, last night's incident was unfortunate as the patrol team was in another section of the community at the time of the shooting.
Superintendent Lewis was also quick to add that while the residents are calling for the refurbishing of the station, he will not go against the Commissioner's Directive. In the meantime the Clarendon police are this evening searching for a suspect in connection to last night's reprisal shooting at a wake in Banks in the parish.
Two persons have since been confirmed dead while five others are still at hospital nursing injuries.
Commander of the Clarendon Police, Superintendent Radcliffe Lewis says he would not reveal the name of the suspect but says the man is being actively sought by the police.
Superintendent Lewis says the police were not informed that the wake was related to a shooting in the community late last year.
