15 Ocotber 2008 , 8:42am
Prime Minister Bruce Golding
A Task Force looking at ways to address the crisis of abuse and violence against the nation's children was given the go-ahead by Prime Minster Bruce Golding.

The Task Force was set up by the Prime Minister to look at ways to curb the recent spate of child abductions, rapes and murders.

The first order of business for the Task Force to immediately establish a 3 digit emergency number where children in crisis can call and report abuse.

Also, the Constabulary Communication Network is to work closely with cable television and cellular providers to display photos of missing children and publicise relevant information.

Several cable stations have already committed to supporting a planned public education programme.

A Sexual Offenses Bill is also to be brought before Cabinet within two weeks.
